Hi Friend,

On January 27, I again joined Bruce de Torres live on TNT Radio, this time to discuss the history of the Israel-Palestine conflict and Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

En route to that discussion, we talked about the events of 9/11 and how the US government lied about Iraq having “weapons of mass destruction” to start a war for regime change.

We also talked about the role of the US in supporting Israel’s systematic violations of Palestinians’ human rights for its entire 75-year existence. This includes facilitating Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

We talked about the recent ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that the government of South Africa has made a plausible case that Israel is committing genocide. I explain the significance of this ruling and provisional order for Israel to comply with the Genocide Convention.

Specific topics we discussed include:

  • Why the Palestine conflict became a central focus of my research and journalism.
  • My brief thoughts about the truth of 9/11, which is the event that compelled me forward on the path to doing independent journalism, including my conclusions about the collapse of WTC 7.
  • How 9/11 was used as a pretext for the illegal war of aggression against Iraq in addition to the US government lying about Iraq possessing weapons of mass destruction (WMD).
  • How most of what people think they know about the Palestine conflict just isn’t true.
  • How the government and mainstream media present a Zionist propaganda narrative of the conflict.
  • How Great Britain enforced a belligerent occupation of Palestine after WWI for the specific purpose of denying Palestine’s inhabitants from exercising their right to self-determination.
  • How Britain’s support for the Zionist project to reconstitute Palestine into a demographically “Jewish state” ultimately facilitated the ethnic cleansing of most of Palestine’s Arab inhabitants, which was the means by which Israel came into existence.
  • Why the claim that the root cause of the conflict is inherent Arab hatred of Jews is ahistorical nonsense designed to conceal the oppression of the Palestinians since the Mandate era.
  • How the US government has supported Israel’s systematic violation of Palestinians’ human rights since the inception of the “Jewish state”.
  • Why the Arabs were being perfectly reasonable in rejecting the 1937 Peel Commission’s partition proposal advocating “compulsory transfer” of Palestinians and the 1947 UN partition proposal that likewise was premised on rejecting Palestinians’ basic human rights.
  • Why the belief that Israel was established through some kind of legitimate political process is a myth, and how the “Jewish state” instead came into existence through the ethnic cleansing of Palestine.
  • How Israel since June 1967 has maintained a belligerent occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip in violation of UN Security Council Resolution 242 requiring it to withdraw to the 1949 armistice lines.
  • Why the US-led so-called “peace process” was the means by which Israel and its superpower benefactor long blocked implementation of the two-state solution premised on the applicability of international law to the conflict.
  • How Hamas’s rule in Gaza is a direct consequence of Israeli and US government policies.
  • How nothing could possibly justify Hamas’s horrific atrocities against Israeli civilians on October 7, 2023, and, likewise, nothing could possibly justify Israel’s retaliatory response of militarily targeting the entire civilian population of Gaza with openly genocidal intent.
  • How South Africa has laudably upheld its obligations under the Genocide Convention by filing an application with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) accusing Israel of committing acts of genocide.
  • How on January 26, 2024, in response to South Africa’s request for provisional measures, the ICJ ordered Israel to comply with its obligations under the Genocide Convention, including facilitating humanitarian aid into Gaza, as a result of having concluded that South Africa had presented a plausible case that Israel has been committing genocide.
  • How the ICJ has no enforcement mechanism but its ruling is a positive development that puts international pressure on Israel to cease its crimes against humanity, on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate and prosecute war crimes committed by all parties, and on the US to cease its complicity in Israel’s genocide.
  • My thoughts on Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s defenses of Israel’s war crimes in Gaza as a previously enthusiastic supporter of his presidential candidacy.
  • My brief thoughts on why the regime of medical licensing in the US should be abolished! (For more fully thoughts, see my discussion with Bretigne Shaffer about why medical licensing should be abolished.)
